Having a player the Mancs want and telling them to fuck off is a sign of progress. Hopefully.

I thought they'd offered £75 million?

The offer to include Phil Jones is an insult and they just want his wages off their books. Hopefully we will refuse to do business with them after such a ridiculous offer

Yeah Lato, silly me. How could I have overlooked that Pearson spent three seasons with us during which the team played nearly 140 games and Stuart was able to play in 25% of them. And silly of me to neglect his massive strike rate of a goal every 510 minutes.

By comparison Andy Carroll, goal every 353 minutes seems proloific.

As for the alleged offer of Phil Jones that takes me back to the time when we acquired Pearson, another ManU raspberry. A player said to have been transferred from Manchester to East Ham Memorial hospital.

comma thats a tad harsh on Stuart Pearson, yes he only scored 6 goals from 30 odd games but 2 were during the FA Cup success of 1980. The first in the 3rd round against WBA and the other the vital equaliser against Everton in the first Semi-Final

Let’s get something clear, in common with our peer group of clubs, if sufficient money is offered any one of our players will be sold. It is as simple as that and anyone not accepting that fact is either seriously deluded or at the very least uninformed.

Punchy? What telling Alex to take his contrary wind up's elsewhere. I thought people did that on a daily basis on here.

But no, fuck it. Sell Diop. In fact, let's sell Fornals now that we Guilleme Balague has told all the big clubs they missed out om a gem. Sell Rice while we are at it. Man City will give us £90m for him even though they have just bought another defensive midfielder. They don't care, it's only money. Might as well move Balbuena on too while we are at it.

So what's that lot worth? £200m? £250m? lovely, get that in the bank and then get relegated. Brilliant system.

Yes it is. But Monaco and Ajax don't play in the Premier League do they. Monaco and Ajax can almost guarantee each season they will be there or there abouts. And they certainly have zero chance of ever worrying about relegation.

The Ajax system has been in place for 50 years. They are a club that is built on a production line of Hollands best players. Southampton do not get all the England's best young players.

So, yes, I agree there are similarities, but believe me Ajax are in a much stronger position than Soton to make this system sustainable.

And, I understand players willcome and players will go and when they want to go you can't stop them. But surely you agree, the message that West Ham, as a club, send out to the fans and the players, by selling good young players is a very negative one.

I simply fail to see how any West Ham fan that thinks selling Diop now, for whatever price, is a positive.

The message it also sends to our opponents is basically this "If you want them, come and get them". As I said, that's exactly what Soton did, exactly what message they sent and look what happened. Liverpool stripped them and laid them bare. And, now look at them, almost relegated, struggling with recruitment, no youth players coming through. The question you have to ask the Soton board is "Was it worth it?"

No disrespect Alex but you have come on here being your usual contrary self going against everyone saying its important to hang onto players like Diop.

You also said that you don't see why its important that the club send the right message out to other clubs, the players and the fans.

I have articulated to you why i think that's nonsense and you tell me I don't understand.

So if you didn't advocate that we as a club should sell our best young players for the right price and you didn't say you couldn't care less what message our clubs sends over transfers, then please tell me what you did advocate and say.

Or in fact, just take your fucking poxy contrary attitude somewhere else.
